pnw: day one

Man, things have been full on since returning from the trip to Washington and Oregon. It’s hard to believe that is was almost three weeks ago now. One observation I made was that taking photos digitally rather than on film created some changes in my photographic process, but in some ways my behaviors are slow to change. For example- after my trip to Denmark and Sweden to see Etta, who was studying over there, I waited about a week to develop the film that I exposed in Europe. Whether anxious anticipation or plain old laziness prevented me from getting my eyes on the negatives as soon as I could, it took a while for me to get around to doing something with the photos I took.

The same sort of thing has happened with the photos that I took on the PNW trip, even though I was able to look at them as soon as I shot them. Maybe perfectionism is the delay here, as it so commonly is. The photos mean a lot to me, so I want them to be the best that they can be, but if I’m busy, then I cannot give them the time that they deserve. In reality, it doesn’t take long at all to sit down and go through a few photos here and there, make a few tweaks, and publish a few. That there is what I have done, and here are some photos from day one of the PNW trip.
